Deemed Counselling Procedure in Mysore

One common mistake I see every year is that many students confuse state counselling with MCC counselling.

So, let me clear this up first.

Counselling for all deemed medical colleges, including JSS Medical College, is done through MCC’s All India counselling process.

These are the steps of the counselling process:

  • MCC Registration: Visit www.mcc.nic.in and register for the deemed university counselling. You will need to pay the registration fee & security deposit and choose the “Deemed University” option.
  • Choice Filling and Locking: You can select JSS Medical College along with other deemed colleges across India. Before locking your choices, make sure you check the seat matrix, last year’s cut-off, and full fee structure. Once locked, choices can’t be changed for that round.
  • Seat Allotment: Based on your NEET rank and seat availability, MCC will allot you a seat. There are four rounds for seat allotment: Round 1, Round 2
    Mop-Up and Stray Vacancy.
  • Reporting: If allotted, report physically to JSS Medical College with all required documents and the first-year fees.

Note: Without registering and attending MCC counselling, you won’t be eligible for any management or NRI quota seats.

Very IMPORTANT Things You Should Know:

  • First, without qualifying for the NEET, you can’t get admission. Many fake agencies claim they can get you a seat without NEET, but it’s a complete scam.
  • You must register and attend the counselling. I have seen cases where students were willing to pay large sums at the last minute, thinking they could secure a vacant seat, but because they didn’t register on time, they lost the chance completely.
  • Documentation matters a lot. Believe me, I have personally seen students miss out just because of incomplete or incorrect documents.

I have listed the documents in the next part of the article.

Documents Required for Admission

These are the documents needed for admission to deemed medical colleges in Mysore:

  • NEET Admit Card.
  • NEET Scorecard.
  • Class 10 & 12 Mark Sheets.
  • Class 10 & 12 Passing Certificates.
  • Conduct Certificate.
  • Transfer & Migration Certificates.
  • ID Proof (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.).
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable).
  • MCC Allotment Letter.
  • 6-8 Recent Passport-size Photos.

Tip: During the admission process, you will need to submit the original documents to the college, so keep 4-5 copies with you as backups. It would be better if you also attested them by a gazetted officer.
