Deemed Medical Colleges in Bangalore – The Latest List [2026]

Most of the students seeking medical admissions are interested in joining deemed medical colleges. Earlier, I used to think, what is the reason for such a decision. Later, through further research, I found that almost all the deemed medical colleges are of excellent quality, with a few exceptions. 😀

For people who don’t know me, I am Vishnu Nambiar, a career expert and educational blogger with more than 13 years of experience in education.

You must be interested in taking admission to a deemed medical college. But you may still have questions like:

  • How many deemed medical colleges are there in Bangalore?
  • What is the fee structure?
  • How many seats are available?
  • How do I get admission?
  • What is the counseling process?

In this article, I will explain everything.

You can use the table given below to navigate through my article.

Deemed Medical Colleges in Bangalore

There is only one deemed medical college in the Bangalore city limits.

Yes, it is true. But there are colleges on the outskirts of Bangalore in places like Tukur, Kolar, Mysore, etc. In case you are not able to secure admission in a deemed college in Bangalore, then you can opt for nearby colleges, as it comes with 1-2 hours of travel.

So which one is the college in Bangalore city? It is Raja Rajeshwari Medical College, which is located on Mysore Road, near Kengeri in Bangalore.

Look at the table below for a better understanding of the fee structure and the seat matrix:

College Name Established YearSeat MatrixFee Structure

Management Quota Seats – 212
NRI Quota Seats – 38
Management Quota – Approx. Rs. 25,00,000 (per year)
NRI Quota – 44,000 USD (per year)

I think I must talk about the nearby deemed colleges in Bangalore, too. As I feel it’s really close to Bangalore.

There are 4 medical colleges out of which 2 are located in Tumkur, 1 in Mysore, and 1 in Kolar. And you can go through the table below to get an idea about them.

Admission Procedure

Many students miss out on good colleges, not because they are not qualified, but because they don’t understand the process well or make mistakes.

That is why understanding the counseling process properly is important.

Admission to Raja Rajeswari Medical College and Hospital is not through state counselling, but through centralized counselling conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).

So these are the steps involved in the counseling process:

Step 1: NEET Qualification is a Must

Only students who have cleared the NEET exam are eligible. The percentile cut-off for both PG and UG courses is given below.

  • General category: 50th percentile.
  • Reserved category: 40th percentile.

Step 2: Register on the MCC Website

You must visit www.mcc.nic.in, complete the registration, and pay the counselling fee plus a refundable security deposit.

After this, you’ll be able to fill out your preferences for colleges, which is called Choice Filling.

Step 3: Choice Filling and Locking

This is where many students feel confused.

So you can keep these in mind while selecting colleges.

  • Seat availability.
  • Fee structure.
  • Cut-off scores from previous years.

Once you lock your choices, you cannot edit them for that round, so take your time and do it carefully. Before locking in the choices, do your basic research about the college without fail.

Online reviews or videos don’t mean that the college is good; try connecting with students who are already studying at the college.

Step 4: Seat Allotment

MCC will allot seats based on:

  • Your NEET rank.
  • Your preferences.
  • Reservation rules.

There are multiple rounds (Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up, Stray Vacancy).

Step 5: Report to the College

Once you are allotted a seat, you must report to the college in person within the given time, along with all original documents and fees.

If you fail to do this, your seat will be cancelled and passed on to the next candidate.

These are the basic steps involved in the deemed university counselling conducted by the MCC. There are a few rules and documentation, which depend on your category and reservations.

Documents Required

When reporting to college, keep the following documents ready:

  • NEET Admit Card.
  • NEET Scorecard.
  • Class 10 Marksheet and Passing Certificate.
  • Class 12 Marksheet and Passing Certificate.
  • Transfer Certificate.
  • Migration Certificate.
  • A valid ID proof (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.)
  • 6 to 8 passport-size photographs.
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable).
  • NRI Documents, if applicable.
  • MCC Allotment Letter.

I would advise everyone to keep at least 5 copies of attested copies with you from a Gazzeted Officer. As you have to submit the original documents to the college during reporting.

Later, in case you need any documents for personal reasons, the attested copies will be of great help.

How to Choose A Good Deemed College?

Even if Raja Rajeshwari Medical College is the only deemed college in Bangalore, it’s still important to know what makes a medical college worth both your time and money.

Here are a few things you should always check:

Patient Flow

Does the college have an active hospital with enough patient flow? I have personally seen a lot of medical colleges with the top notch bulidings and hospitals, but almost zero patients.

Patient Exposure

Just having a hospital isn’t enough. You need to know whether students are allowed to treat patients or not. It completely depends on your faculty and management.

Student-Patient Ratio

The student-to-patient ratio must be decent so that every student gets the opportunity to learn and upgrade their skills.

Faculties

Good teachers matter a lot. Look for colleges with full-time, experienced professors who are easily approachable and are always ready to guide and help you.

Technologies & Labs

Technologies are getting updated every day, and the colleges must also update their treatment and teaching technologies. A good college must have modern skill labs, diagnostic tools like MRI and CT, and simulation centres.

Technologies & Labs

Always confirm that the college is recognized by NMC and also NAAC-accredited. Rajarajeshwari Medical College has both these recognitions.

Recognitions and Accreditations

Always confirm that the college is recognized by NMC and also NAAC-accredited. Rajarajeshwari Medical College has both these recognitions.

Fee Transparency

Deemed medical colleges are around Rs 25 lakhs per year, excluding hostel and mess. Plus, there may be some additional fees. So, you should properly check the fee structure.

While reporting at college or before choice-filling, you can directly call their helpline and cross-check it.

Conclusion

I had tried my best to provide all the basic information needed for students and parents regarding deemed medical colleges in Bangalore.

There might be changes in the fee structure, and I will try my best to update everything properly.
